He loves trains, but has Thomas big race, dulux set and big loader.

Actually I like Aloha's suggestion though something tells me it's sarcastic. My DS got a white dress with pink roses for his 3rd and it was the only present he liked all day. Apart from the bubble blowing kit.

Less controversially, Kid Connex are quite good.

My four Year Old loved kidconnex, and has done since he was 3, a good choice

PLAYMOBIL!!!! It is fantastic and ds of 5 still loves it. Ds has viking and castle but there is loads. THe Pirate ship is only £20 amd comes with loads of bits and pieces. There is also a dragon which is really cool. here

He wants the cowaboy stuff for xmas and it lasts forever.

Would suggest toy guns.. there is a whole thread about it going on right now!

you build the models with (strong)plastic connectors - my 3 and a half yr old loves them. They have models for older kids but for a 3 yr old you would definitely need the kid knex.

they are buy one get one free at the mo

you buy them in a cannister (with the bits in it) and the lid is the head of the creature
