here

I got 2 friends one each as christmas gifts, one loved hers. The other one hasn't replied to emails or texts, and I know that she has internet access, so I'm confused. Would you be upset to receive this? If she hates it, I wish she'd just tell me.

I think it was a generous gift and very thoughtful.

It would not suit me because I am quite shy and would hate the attention. Also, I love my own hairdresser and wouldn't want anyone else fiddling!

Is your friend very sensitive- could she have thought the gift was a kind of implied criticism? Or maybe she is just shy and it's not her thing. I expect she is unsure about it all, but doesn't want to hurt your feelings.

Hope you hear from her soon. Agree it must be frustrating not to know one way or the other!

Well she's not shy...and I made sure there was a salon nearby. I also haven't received anything from her, which she said was on its way, but if she hasn't sent anything, I'm not bothered-just want to know that the gift I sent her was well received and I hate being ignored!

You are a very generous friend. Can't believe your friend hasn't got in touch - whether it's to thank you or wish you a Happy New Year. Seriously though £50 is a lot to spend on a friend especially on one who lacks manners.

was this when they did the promotion where it only cost £1 for the item on buy a gift or something like that

tarumpybum · 04/01/2010 20:37

£1!!????
No they where £20 each and I had a 10% discount code so..£18 ish I think, plus postage.
When where they £1? I wonder if thats what she thinks I've done? OMG, how can I find out?

Honestly it is not something I would want to do I would not really want to be glammed up and then photographed and the photos always seem to be very naff and soft focus and they do the same hair and makeup on everyone. Maybe your friend feels like that? I would love vouchers for my hairdressers that I know and trust to cut my hair or for a pamper day at a beauty salon but these packages just seem a bit naff tbh. This might not be true anymore of course..

That said your heart was in the right place and if anyone gave me that I would be grateful but I would probably not use it.

OK thanks. Wish I'd just got smellies now
I googled it and couldn't find any promotion where they where £1 but I did find quite a lot of bad reviews, wonder if I can get it back off her and give her something else. Can't do anything until she replies to me anyway can I.
