Hi,
my 3 year old Samsung DVD-HR734 is being cantankerous. It is out of warranty now but it has been brilliant until a couple of weeks ago.
It is refusing to play some new DVDs that my kids received for Christmas ( Madagascar 2 and Ice age 3). The DVDs are legitimate, they are not blueray and will play on my laptop and on the inbuilt DVD player on my bedroom TV. The Samsung player will still play a selection of DVDs that I already had so what is the problem. Has old age set in already, it's 3 years old but I would have expected it to last for a bit longer as it isn't hammered.
Also since the analogue signal went, I have to set the date and time on my machine every time I want to do a timed recording to the HDD is this normal?
Do I cut my losses and send it to the recycling centre or is there a cheap fix?
