Please help,

My very dear sister is turning 40 in a couple of months and I would love to arrange something special for her.
She really has been a fab sister and has helped me so much over the past couple of years. I thought this might be an opportunity to thank her and do something lovely for her.
I'm thinking city break/ spa weekend or something along those lines.
Would only be able to go away for a few night(DC'S etc)
Does anyone have any suggestions please.
We are in the north west of England.
Thank you for your help.

OK any interests or special things she likes?

Are you thinking UK or abroad? DH and I planned to go to Budapest a few years ago but it never happened - they are the 'city of Spas'. Would still love to do it one day, though we don't fly any more so it may have to be part of a longer trip for us.

In the UK, how about heading down to Bath and going to the Bath [[http://www.thermaebathspa.com/ Thermae Spa? Again we wanted to do this but they kept putting off opening it while we had money, and now it is open, we are broke! It will happen one of these days, again.

I'm only telling you what I would like to do... any further ideas for your sister?

Thanks for the quick reply floosy.
Home or abroad, don't really mind. Just want it to be special!
Would be great if I could arrange a 'package'.
A friend mentioned a spa weekend at centre parks. Never been so don't know what its like.
Will have a look at your bath link.
Thanks again

Centre Parcs can be nice but it's not where I would choose for a childfree weekend tbh! Different if you want to take the children too. Also centre parcs is NOT cheap in my experience, for what it is.

Don't want to take the children! (does that sound bad?!?!)
She has 4 so want her to relax!
Maybe a spa weekend is the way forward.
Bath looks lovely.

I'm having a lovely time looking at spa packages...what sort of budget are you looking at?? [fantasy travelling emoticon] I read a wonderful article by Marian Keyes about the Delphi Resort in Ireland, sounds and looks amazing...

Another option might be a theatre package? e.g. the RSC are doing King Lear at Stratford on Avon in February?

or what about staying in a posh hotel in Leeds and going to see The History Boys at the WYP?

Isaidwaitandsee · 29/12/2009 23:34

Choosy, I'm loving your ideas. Thanks
Budget probably 500ish.

you could go on last minute and have a look around there. You could do a nice spa day and then book in for another massage a month later at a beauty salon near hers. I would love that.
