Has anyone else's train company been adding minutes onto the timetable so that the trains run 'on time' even though the journey could actually be quicker so you end up waiting at stations?

how do they get away with this?

they have done this so they can consistently make the scheduled arrival time so they don't get fined

but this means, very often, (virtually every sodding journey), you have to get to stations and sit there and wait till the train has caught up to its timetabled time (as it can't leave early) and now they have announced trains can leave up to 1 minute before their scheduled time (which has always happened but they have never done it - now they have started doing so!)

have just checked the new December timetable and another minute has been added on

AARRGHHHHHH

I wish our bus would do that - it has to go over the train tracks so if a train is coming it obviously has to wait putting the whole schedule out for the day and even more so everytime it goes over the tracks.

FGW do this continually. Apart from the occasional fast train my journey time now is slower than it was when I first started commuting 25 years ago (I started very young!!).

it's madness isn't it Mollie!

are your buses not very frequent goldfish?
