I'm dreaming of a pastel beach hut, homemade lemonade and fun in the sand... what about you?

Despite having a lovely weekend and a lovely life generally there are times like today when bogged down with the heavy issues of the day (see other threads) I'd like to be somewhere else... at the moment on a beach, with a beach hut, having fun with my family... where would you all be if you could be beamed up right now?

P.S. I'm off to a sandpit in the garden... it almost counts!

Ooh sitting at centre court Wimbledon, strawberries in one hand, Pimms in the other and Henman about to serve.

Yeah, I think my garden too. Just lazing, watching my toddler jump in and out of his paddling pool, totally absorbed with his own little game and unaware of me watching him.

Or, in a pub garden with some really good friends, having a drink, having a laugh and a gossip.

Or most favourite of all, visiting a place we went on holiday a couple of years ago BC, sitting on a cliff top, watching the boats in the harbour, talking and not having to be anyway at all in particular for hours and hours and hours...

Sitting in the garden in the sun with a nice drink and a 2.7 year old in the paddling pool. Ooh, I'm going there right now. Byeeeeee.

definitely like to be down in Dorset (or on the beach at Walberswick) with my family- good book and icy cold drink (a Pimms sounds nice,though I adore diet Dr Pepper - with a straw) and my feet in the paddling pool...

Greek Island ,probably Naxos.With no stretch marks ,cellulite or wrinkles and of course a dark curly haired hunk with a six pack.....

Swanking around Bilbao with large sunglasses on head in a size 8 Chloe dress (hell,12 would do) and Manolo slingbacks, looking sophisticated and gorgeous, stopping for drinks every now and then on the way to the Guggenheim - I'd have to ditch the screaming toddler in pushchair but in that life she would be well behaved angel who enjoyed being taken for a 5 mile walk everyday by the 24/7 nanny that I employed.... Oh, could I have nice car too? and boat? and villa in Tuscany?

Lizzer, I can see you've really thought this through. Result of having your weekend away?

Ha ha, very possibly Tigermoth! I have higher aspirations now my taste of freedom has been realised!!!

Bron, nice to know it's only a 'small' lake, wouldn't want to think you were being greedy or anything!
