I thought of you Sparkler - I was out in Broadstone it! What a daft idea going to the shops with a thunderstorm threatened, but I had to get my car tax. Anyway Julia's Hospice charity shop came to my rescue and gave me a long plastic bag to put dd in (stuck a hole in the bottom and put it over her head like a poncho, and they loaned me an umbrella. What lovely ladies! Then I waded home.

DH was in a tiny boat in the Solent watching the Spithead Fleet Review, but he's phoned and is safe.

Surfermum · 28/06/2005 19:26

Boll**ks. Dh has just come in and told me the sun roof on my car's open.

SPARKLER1 · 29/06/2005 09:30

Oh Surfer you numpty! -Is there much damange done? I must have driven past you in Broadstone. DD had swimming lessons at the leisure centre. We were driving through the shops as the rain was hammering down. Could have given you a lift!!! LOL

We had it in Manchester too, from about half nine to beyond half ten!

albert · 29/06/2005 10:46

OMG send it here. People are dieing here, I kid you not. 15 keeled over yesterday. When I went to bed last night at midnight it was still 30 degrees and this morning at 7.30 it was 31 degrees, too scared to look after that. I'm now in my air conditioned office pretending to work!
Oh, if you don't know, I'm in Italy.

Surfermum · 29/06/2005 12:45

Thunderstorm guaranteed this pm too. I'm planning on taking dd on the open top bus to the beach .
