i have been interested in fostering for ages, first when i was a single parent but was talked out of it by family, but i have decided now is the time to do it, i have a dd of 4 and sd of 7 who stays occassionally, after a lenghty conversation with social services today i have decided i really want to do it, dp is right behind me but i would like to hear for foster carers as to what i can expect from training and how it will affect my family
cheers clare

I have fostered for 11 years, from babies to teenagers. 7 years with the local authority and 3ish years with a private fostering agency. Have done short term and preparation for adoption. I started fostering when I was married, carried on when I divorced, did it for 5 years as a single parent and when I remarried, dh was approved too.

I'm happy to chat with you if you want to pick my brains.
