Hi

my son has been referred not because of speech really, although there is a bit of delay there, but because of feeding, because he wouldn' take solids. He has now started to sort of take solids, he will have a suck of a rice cake, or broccoli, his first solids were 3 weeks ago. He doesn't talk and didn't start babbling til 13 months, and now bables mama and baba but nothing else. He can't drink from a cup so until he started to have a slight nibble / suck on solids 3 weeks ago, he was still exclusively breastfed.

The HV has finally found how to refer to and has referred him to a sppech therapist who specialises in feeding problems but its a long wait and i was wondering what to expect in the assessment
