Yes. I know Scarborough well as I spent five years at boarding school there - not entirely happy memories. I live in the Ripon area. Yorkshire people (I'm not one myself) take some getting to know but once you've made a friend you'll have them for life. They are superb and down to earth - what you see is usually what you'll get. If you want a good night in a traditional pub with decent beers go and visit The Hole In The Wall on the road down to South Bay - the opposite end to the harbour.

Thanks Binza
Your right yorkshire folk are quite difficult sometimes to get to know, especially the folk here in scarborough. But i've got to know a few people now, so i don't feel like the new girl anymore!

No it definately was not! It was the Convent which is now partly the YMCA.How the nuns must have loved that decision! Glad you're feeling a bit more like you belong. An old man here that I used to meet when I was dog walking once said "when you've lived here for about forty years than you'll be accepted" oh well only another 25 to go.
