Stupid Windows question

I've managed to delete the desktop icon from the "quick launch" set of icons on the tool bar at the bottom of the screen. How do I get it back?? I've tried all orts of things with no success.

Hi, Right click on on the quick launch toolbar (on a grey bit not on one of the icons) Choose Toolbars from the list of commands that appears, a further list will be displayed, click on desktop and it should bring it back for you.

I looked at that list of toolbars innumerable tiomes and never saw desktop! In the end, I found that I'd dragged it onto the desktop itself so was able to drag it back.
