As ive posted, we got offer of asking price on house today..couple went striaght in, sorted their mortgage out and all paperwork, estate agent rang me to ask whch solicitor wed be using..so all going quickly!

still had someone coming at 6pm, didnt want to cancel as things can always go wrong, but didnt bother making such a fuss of tidyness etc...

they've only gone and offered asking price too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh flip, never been greedy before when selling, but should i ask for sealed bids??????

Tell both buyers about the other buyer and ask them to make you a better offer. Lucky you. Our house has been on the market for four months with hardly a sniff.

just dont wanna be greedy, but at end of day, more we get, more we can put down on new house or spend more or spend less and have cash to do it up???

A house is only worth what someone will pay for it. Usually that means you have to accept a lower offer, but in your case, get what you can for it and good luck! Also, if one buyer offers more, don't forget to take the other buyer's details in case the deal falls through and you can get back to them.

think of yourself. It's not greedy. You obviously have a lovely house - just think of it as a bonus for all the cleaning up you've had to do while it's on the market

Be careful i played this game and lost both buyers .

Luckily got asking price offer from another buyer the following week.

BUT was gutted that my greediness nearly lost it all.

Take advice from the estate agent (not saying this is always a good idea but at least listen to what they have to say!)

Please don't do sealed bids; it is so horrible and stressful for a seller. A lot of estate agents are now stopping this process as a result.

Why not instead set a deadline for the best OPEN bid - say 10am on Friday?

Or go with the first as they seemed really keen and eager and have started the process?

see, could go with first couple, get messed about (as they have pulled out of a sale before) and have lost second couple anyway???think i will wait for agent to ring, then ask them to ring both couples and maybe ask for their best offer??feel very cheeky though

But at least you are giving them both the same options, and it is all open. House selling/buying is stressful enough, without the extra hassle and stresses of sealed bids. I hate them (despite having won the two we've been in)

think i would regret not doing it as much as i would if i p**d them off

No It is all back to square one for us - see here . Apartment back on market. I hate our buyer - who we have now not heard from for about 2 weeks, despite him having had a letter from DH (a solicitor; buyer was his client too) asking for a bill to be paid. Thinking he may be a possible crook, especially having heard other stuff about him from other people since
