When do you post?

I consider myself a real mumsnet addict, I log in at least twice a day. I try to refrain from posting unless I feel I have something useful or constructive to add to a discussion but if (like tonight!) I have had a few drinks too many I find I am adding to nearly every thread going, sometimes really banal comments! When does everyone else get the urge to post?

According it DH I post all the time ... "Are you on B**y Mumsnet again?"
But I log on first thing in the morning 7.30am (NZ time ... 8.30pm UK time) and check up on everything that you lot have been talking about during the day ... have a few laughs at the slightly drunken ramblings!! I post if I feel like it ... I keep going back and checking (unless DS and I are going out) until about 11am which is when it all goes quiet as you lot all go to bed (midnight!)
Then at about 6pm (7am) I start checking again ... and it depends on what's on the telly whether I post in the evenings ... I posted a lot last night as there was only rugby on ... oh and the Friday night movie "Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory" ... I ask you??? NZ telly can be a bit pants so Mumsnet saves me!!

Only twice a day Lindy, I have withdrawal symptoms if I don't look in every hour!

Well, it is easy with broadband as it is always on

Pupuce just taught me to do this

Lindy · 24/05/2003 22:08

Well, if I'm honest it is more than twice a day, alibubbles - you have been very restrained in your postings recently, or am I not looking at the right threads?

Ghosty - I know you've told us before but where are you in NZ? It is our serious intention to visit before DS starts full time school. We spent a year in the States so we know what we are doing re: travelling etc and are putting money aside to spend about 3 months in NZ within the next couple of years.

BTW - UK TV is equally useless so you are not missing anything!

I log on whenever I can get a spare few minutes. I tend to post less though if there are arguments going on because it depresses me.I love Willy Wonka Ghosty, we bought it for the kids as a Christmas present.

Ghosty · 24/05/2003 23:28

Lindy ... we are in Auckland ... a good place to live but you wouldn't want to spend too much time here if you want to visit the rest of the country, which is well worth visiting!!!! When you do come, come and see us won't you?? A good way to see the country is to hire a camper van ... Not into camping but I think I could cope in a camper van ... I really want to do that one day!!
I love Willie Wonker too Lou ... but on a Saturday night when DS is in bed ... from 8pm to 10pm?? What's the point in that? A few weeks ago they had The Sound of Music on on a Saturday night ... it is also one of my favourite films but I would like to watch it with DS ... and watch something a bit more gritty when he is asleep ....!!!

lou33 · 25/05/2003 01:21

At least you can watch it all the way through without hearing "muuuuuuuuum" every 10 minutes!

mears · 25/05/2003 01:58

Far too often. I am always having a look whenever I pass the computer

Bossanova · 25/05/2003 02:38

I'm still here - enough said.

susanmt · 25/05/2003 15:04

Whenever I get a chance. When kids are sleeping. When I am up throwing up or with kidney pain in the middle of the night! Have posted some really weird and banal things under the influence of my pethedine tablets!!

Dahlia · 25/05/2003 20:44

At least once a day, more if there's nothing on tv. dd and I fight over the computer sometimes so I have to bribe her with iced gems. Lindy, did you send me a swimsuit some months ago? If its you, then swimsuit says hi, and it gets used every day still! (she said smugly with only 4 weeks to go).

Tortington · 26/05/2003 11:28

not as often as i used to

Ghosty · 26/05/2003 11:30

That's a shame custy ... cos I love your posts ... even when you are miserable you seem to have a way of writing that has me smiling IYKWIM!!!!

breeze · 27/05/2003 07:44

usually first thing in the morning while Ds is watching fimbles or something, depending on wether he has play-school wether it is again in the morning, usually lunch time and I might have the odd look when DS is in bed.

Lindy · 27/05/2003 08:15

Hi Dahlia - yes, that was me, was wondering what your nick name was!! Good luck for the last few weeks, let us know how you get on.
Ghosty - yes, we will certainly look you up when we come to NZ - the idea of a camper van is a good one, we did camp (tents) around the USA but might prefer a little more comfort now we have DS.

Most evenings, from about 8pm (ish) to 10pm. I am normally doing other things too so kind of pop in and out. Also, when I am at work Tuesday to Thursday I sometimes pop in during my free lessons.
