i am a single mum of two kids and my youngest is due to go into hospital for open heart surgery.
he loved his playstation but sadley it got broke, not his fault, but the hospital has said he needs to rest for a month in bed and i am desperate to find a cheap playstation 1 as i am on income support and can not afford a new one.
is there anybody that will help me find one for a four year old lad that has so many health problems that this would make him alot happier.

Chicks ... so sorry that your little boy is poorly ...
On the playstation front ... have you tried eBay? There must be loads of ps1s around as people are all now getting ps2s aren't they? .... If no-one else on Mumsnet can help you I would definitely recommend looking on eBay ...

dear ghosty,
thanks for the tip but i have looked and they are from about £55.00 to £70.00

chicks, I have seen PS1s advertised locally for much less than that, with games included - check out local papers, freesheets, supermarket noticeboards etc, or put a want ad in yourself?

Ghosty · 24/05/2003 21:46

Blimey Chicks ... that's a bit steep for something that will soon be 'out of action' IYKWIM isn't it? I would look do what janh suggested ... what about 'Loot' or 'Friday Ad'??
