Sunblock - I'm curious

Drifting off from the "facial sunblock a little, I'm curious as to why people would pay a fortune for something like a Clarin's sun block when the point is that you put lots on and put it on often.

Surely if it costs a fortune per tube, you're going to be reluctant to use it in adequate quanitites?

Good point. I've never quite got to grips with facial sunblock, I think that's why I asked. But the v. cheap and cheerful stuff I've been using until recently is so thick and gloopy that it is completely incompatible with a normal skincare and makeup routines. And the kind that are incorporated into ordinary moisturisers tend to be factor 8, or 15 at the most, which isn't really enough.

I'm looking for one that feels like a normal moisturiser but has a high protection factor. A sunblock 'third way', perhaps.

garnier have put a new clear spray out recently which has quite a high factor. I love it as it's bot greasy or claggy and no white streaks.
