My local telephone supplier is expanding into the big world of BT customers

They have a new scheme (similiar to TalkTalk from Carphone Warehouse) that gives you free calls to other members of the scheme and discounted rates to other numbers.

They are offering £10 credit to each new customer - and to the person who recommends them!

You keep your BT number and don't need to plug in a gadget or dial a prefix. No contract, so no tie-in - you can try it and then cancel no problem if not happy.

If anyone is interested please email me at antlxstew @ yahoo.co.uk (remove spaces).

Anyone who does sign up can then go on to recommend others and get further £10 credits - no lose situation really

Nonono, you want 18866 (for UK calls, free except for 2p connection charge) and 1899 (for international and mobile calls) - dirt cheap and no subs. (You do have to dial the code each time.)

1899 also cheaper for 0845 and 0870 some of the time but at weekends BT cheapest for those.

Mr Money Saving Expert on cheap phone calls.

oooh - cheapest rate abroad I've found yet - ta janh - I'm going to phone dh right now

Janh · 08/06/2005 23:19

You have to sign up first, morocco, but it takes no time at all!

(Where is he? Don't tell me - Morocco? )

SaintGeorge · 08/06/2005 23:21

Fair enough Jan, just that I know some people just can't be arsed with dialling all these prefixes or special lines first, plus with this you can get £10 credited to your phonebill.

Never mind, next time something like this comes up I'll keep it to myself.

Blimey, their rates do change though, you need to keep up to date - we have a small boy from Belarus staying atm ("Children from Chernobyl"), he rang his grandma at home on Monday and I checked the rate on 1899 then and it was 10p, just looked again and it's 14p )

Janh · 08/06/2005 23:25

I can't be arsed either StG, I have a phone with a 200 number memory!

Sorry, didn't mean to sound snotty and I know that eg TalkTalk is better than BT, although its best rates do depend on others also being signed up and how do you know who is and who isn't? (And the savings on 18866 beat a £10 credit, it has to be said - you can talk to one person all day if you want for 3p.)
