I got a letter in post this morning, last saturday (while working) I apparently was recorded doing 37 miles per hour in a 30 zone - I'm very aware of speed cameras (really cant afford a fine!)and I would never speed in this location as the signs and cameras as literally all over the road, impossible to miss, also, I am always super careful whilst driving at work - is there any way that the cameras could be wrong with the speed I was doing? or is it possible that my car speedometer is inaccurate?
I've been told that there is an 8mph leeway or something, is this true?

My cousin (a copper) says the leeyway is 10% plus one mile per hour, so in a 30mph zone it would be 34 miles an hour.

You can ask for photographic evidence that it was actually your car, not sure how this proves the speed though. Maybe someone cleverer will come along and tell us!
