Am seriously thinking of taking ds tomorrow as he really wants to go.
Do you think he is too young as I would hate him to have nightmares.

I don't know then .. only you can decide whether he might have nightmares

tbh most of the kids in the queue always look around 7 or 8

there are actors there who are trained to jump out at you and give you the shivers but I am sure they also take a judgement over the age

if you think he will be fine, he probably will be

I'd say no - went a few years ago (without children) - I'm sure they've upgraded the gruesomeness of it since. I do think 7 is too young BH, however keen he might be.

roisin · 05/06/2005 18:21

Have you asked him, and shown him the leaflet? I expected ds1 to jump at the chance when we were in London at Easter (he's 8 in July), but he didn't like the look of it at all.

tamum · 05/06/2005 18:23

I wouldn't take my 10 year old to be honest, not that he would want to go.

hercules · 05/06/2005 18:26

I took Ds when he was 7 and didnt realise what it was like. It took nearly a year before he would go upstairs on his own again and had nightmares about Jack the Ripper for some time, so no, I wouldnt advise it.

Dd is 7 and a half and she would be scared to death but thats her.

pinkmama · 05/06/2005 18:43

I havent been, but my friends took their 8 and 6 year old last year and had to leave half way around.

too young. its horrible!

mytwopenceworth · 06/06/2005 10:06

no i wouldnt but thats cos i went a couple of years ago and i still have nightmares! i think its the sort of thing that could prey on a young, impressionable mind.

redsky · 06/06/2005 15:59

i found it very scary - and so did my 12yo dd. ds 17 loved it.
