Was there another one that was very pro vax?

LGJ · 04/06/2005 21:50

Lots of people have mildly irritated me on here from time to time. It passes.

There is one poster who I still speak to, but who has upset me so very much.

Lonely Mum posted on a recent thread to the effect that, if you only had one child then, effectively you are a couple with a child but not a family

I only have one child for reasons that the regulars know about.

That comment made me feel like shit for days, and still does from time to time.

So thank you for the opportunity JT, didn't know how much it still rankled.

QueenEagle · 04/06/2005 21:58

The only mner who really bamboozles me and makes my brain ache is Lavenderrrrrrrrrrrrr

JoolsToo · 04/06/2005 21:58

LGJ - well that was an uniformed comment then!

Donkeys years ago I worked with some older women and one of them really wanted children but her husband didn't (she ended up not having any) and another insensitive woman told her 'you're not a complete woman unless you have a child' how crass is that? and how unfeeling? - I was only a teeenager at the time but its always stuck with me as being one of the most disrespectful comments ever made in my hearing.

I was upset by LM's comment as well, but it was the comment that p*ed me off, not the MNer. If that makes sense.

Please don't turn this thread into a I'm p-ed off with Lav thread.

milge · 04/06/2005 22:01

LGJ- sorry you were so upset. I can empathise - i am an only child and years ago, i still remember today, someone saying "you have no brothers and sisters so you haven't got a family". I think it is something about only children which makes people feel they can comment, not knowing the reasons behind it, sometimes deeply sensitive. Funny the things that get us, isn;t it?

LGJ · 04/06/2005 22:01

JT

Thank You.

It struck me as deeply rude, and from someone who purports to be educated, well really......words fail me.

morningpaper · 04/06/2005 22:01

I don't like anyone who doesn't put up a good fight!

Flouncers are THE WORST!

lemonice · 04/06/2005 22:02

That does make sense wwb like the behaviour not the child

Caligula · 04/06/2005 22:03

I'm probably being controversial here, but I quite like all the mad trollish ones, they liven the place up. I don't approve of people who go out of their way to deliberately upset or wind people up, but the mad evangelicals who just want to get their point across are funny. That self-actualising woman was hilarious, as was Alwayssaythankyou.

lemonice · 04/06/2005 22:04

one i've had to believe or wouldn't have got through

LGJ · 04/06/2005 22:04

WWB

Hate to do this, I never disagree with you, but no, it was in keeping with LonelyMums mind set.

The above post is a watered down version of what I wanted to post.

tamum · 04/06/2005 22:05

I agree Caligula. Always cheers me up enormously when I see one of those coming

tamum · 04/06/2005 22:05

I am sorry about that LGJ and WWB. Very hurtful.

jodee · 04/06/2005 22:05

Darn that fish!

Glad i missed that thread, LGJ, it would probably have upset me too (but agree with Wigwambam that it wouldn't have been the person, but the thread, that rankled).
