Are there any computer experts out there?

My DP tried to deinstall a programme which resulted in the loss of some windows system files. We were then unable to access windows and appeared to have lost everything. My DP then used the IBM recovery disk which has restored us to the factory settings but everything else is gone.

Anyone know if or how we can recover the lost data?

The restore disk usually wipes everything. If you can't see your old files, then they will be been deleted. Sorry!

You can download a program from the internet that will recover lost data, IF it hasn't been copied over.

You have to pay though, the cheapest one I found was around thirty pounds.
