I read a thread once where someone said that Mumsnet is like crack, only more addictive.

QueenEagle · 03/06/2005 19:56

Me too! I have to make sure I am really strict with myself usually.

As I am currently confined to keeping my leg up, I have the perfect excuse to sit on the laptop feeding my MN addiction whilst dh is running round trying to get the kids organised for bed AND keep up with the housework!!!!

Hermione1 · 03/06/2005 19:56

It is addictive, very very addictive. You have to make yourslef get off.

spacecadet · 03/06/2005 19:58

"Hello my name is Sorrel and I am addicted to Mumsnet"

Actually have been at home with sick dd today and couldn't go out, but i have been on here all day instead of weeding the borders or sorting out drawers or some other thing i used to do before hideous addiction..............

trace2 · 03/06/2005 20:03

qe what op did you have,? great excuse.

jessicasmummy · 03/06/2005 20:06

i have a horrendus addiction too - spent at least 6 hours on here today!

QueenEagle · 03/06/2005 20:08

Had op to repair a partial rupture to my anterior cruciate ligament.

Yes it's a great excuse to do nothing apart from sit with laptop but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone - I'm sure there's far less extreme measures which can be used to get out of housework!!!

LGJ · 03/06/2005 20:08

I think it was Caligula who said it was like crack only more addictive.........

sorrel · 03/06/2005 20:09

QueenEagle · 03/06/2005 20:44

Thought I was bad spending hours on MN but it's worse when I'm on the phone to a fellow MNer - whole days slip by once Spacecadet gets going!!!!!!

Only joking SC - I love our chats really!

QueenEagle · 03/06/2005 20:58

Mads1 · 03/06/2005 22:16

Hi! I only discovered MN a few days ago and within such a short time I am hooked!! As soon as DD goes down for her sleep I'm on here like a shot until I hear her wake up!!

I only use to come on the computer 2-3 times a week. Now it's left on all day cos I'm on and off it!!

It's also great to sit and express to (ie breast milk not opinions!), which is what i do at this time every night.
