OK dont laugh - they do exist - I hadn't heard of them until recently either

A device for letting natutrla light into your ome - basically and tube up to a natural light source (the roof) channeled down to where you want it to reflect into.

So has anyone used one or knows anyone who has got one? We are currently having an extension built and are considering one to replace the landing window that will no longer exist - the idea its to replace the ligt that it gives.

I will not be surprised if noone responds to this!!!

Yes, I've heard of them, too, my Dad was thinking of having one put into his extension (but didn't). Could your architect find out for you?

Hughsie, try posting a question on one of the self-build website (ebuild.co.uk has a good forum). I have heard of these, but I also read som enegative comments - didn't transfer as much light as expected etc, but can't remember where I saw them. If you are having a lot of work done, and spending money on home dec. mags (like me) you're better off looking at some of the self-build/renovating ones, as they tend to cover stuff like this.

Yes am extension mad or maybe just mad!

Have spoken to a local dealer and he says you cannot view them in peoples houses as most who have them are "too upmarket" - how amusing!
Anyway he has given me a quote and volunteered his own home to look at them but it is a bit far away and onkly available on a weekday - do not fancy going with children in tow!
