Why would you put vaseline in your ears?

I've just noticed my colleague putting vaseline in her ears.

I don't want to ask her why as it was obvious she was trying to be discreet so I don't want to embarrass her, but why on earth would you put vaseline in your ears?

To see if you'd start a thread on MN about it?

cookielove · 01/09/2009 16:03

maybe she has small ears and they rub when using ear plugs or head phones and it may help ease the pain

MadreInglese · 01/09/2009 16:03

lol

eczema's a possibility actually, didn't know you could get it in your ears

I have put vaseline in my ears when I have had eczema. Works quite well.

Maybe I'm your colleague...?

I found DH putting my Oil of Ulay in DS's ears a couple of days ago.

Apparently he had dry skin, although I think it was soap residue. I've since inspected said lug-hole and it is a picture of dewy perfection.

KingRolo have you just done it about 20 mins ago?
