Im looking for lovely little touches at my wedding.

I really want the day to be very memorable even though it isnt a grand affair.

Thinking back to weddings you have been to, what moved you or really made you smile?

Cod, be quiet. Mine were fabulous!!

Enid · 29/05/2005 20:18

no disposable camera
no first dance

both hideous IMO

peckarollover · 29/05/2005 20:18

my venue is a bit inflexible - it seems to be their package or nothing

i asked to serve bacon sarnies instead of an evening buffet and they said no!

have you had some disposable camera related incident Enid that has left you damaged? hideous is a tad harsh for an innocent little disposable camera !

From what I can gather I will have lots of photos of my cousin's son when ours are developed (one of my other cousin's kids took a liking to him ), but it is a part of the wedding, and will make me smile!!!

SenoraPostrophe · 29/05/2005 20:19

I meant to say that the "first dance" song was called "que guapos son los novios" (how georgous the bride and groom are) - not sure if it's a known song or one of theirs but suspect you'd be able to download it one way or another.

I'm intrigued by the hideous disposables now too!!!

peckarollover · 29/05/2005 20:21

I'm giving lottery tickets as favours and making the kids age specific goody bags to keep them quiet

no just don't like them - never seen any good photos, people forget then fire off the whole roll being silly also they are a cliche now.

Spend the money on more flowers.

MRSflamesparrow · 29/05/2005 20:21

Lol - forgot to add... girl takin the photos, the child in question is a year old and cute.

Gobbledigook · 29/05/2005 20:22

We had one because my parents wanted a chance to make sure they said thank you to everyone personally for coming just in case they didn't get to them later on.

Felt a bit daft doing it but we just took it in a lighthearted way and sort of acted a bit daft while we did it!

I've got 2 albums of brilliant evening reception photos from my disposable cameras so don't listen to the miserable old gits Pecka!

They were only £34 for 10 including procession so even if I get a few good ones it will be fine.

You will probably vomit if I tell you Im putting a little poem with them giving instruction HAHAHHHAHH

Oh yes, what a good idea - spend more money on flowers that are gone as soon as the wedding is over OR you could get lots of photos of your guests in the evening....hmmm, what a tough choice!

SenoraPostrophe · 29/05/2005 20:23

Last time I went to a wedding, the favour was a pack of 4 fags in a special box. class!

didn't give them at mine. didn't know you were supposed to. Agree about disposable cameras (don't bother) - there'll be enough photos from the guests' normal cameras.

tiredemma · 29/05/2005 20:24

went to a lovely wedding last summer, bride walked down the aisle to "someone like you" by dinah carroll, and also had it for the first dance. Bride and matron of honour also did a speech, instead of just the usual groom, father of bride and best man. No formal seating for the meal either, we all just "piled in".

peckarollover · 29/05/2005 20:24

your so booooooooring cod - i thought lottery tickets were a nice idea

Much cheaper than normal favours at a quid each and im putting them inside little envelopes with each persons name on which will also double up as place card. BARGAIN

OP posts:
SenoraPostrophe · 29/05/2005 20:24

Oh OK - 34 quid is worth paying!
