Hello everyone. I am currently going through a sticky divorce and due in court for financial matters. My twat of an ex is wanting to pay me peanuts and says I am eligible for Working Tax Credits if I get a job. Can someone just tell this dunce exactly what they are and how I would be eligible?
Thankyou!

Thanks ADrinker! But according to that I'm eligible for Child Tax Credits but not Working Tax Credits. I put in that I was earning 8 grand (off the top of my head) plus my £500 a month maintenance.

Hmm, think it only applies to married folk, not if you are separated. Surely your solicitor would sort this out for you? Or CAB?

Hi Rhubarb. My solicitor has sent me away to research it. My rates are cheaper lol!
CAB is a very good idea. Thanks.

working tax credits doesn't apply if you are only married. i get it and i am not married. you have to work 16 hrs a week or more .. and can get more if u are living with partner/husband.
