ABSINTHE - what to put with it

I brought dh some Absinthe back from Magaluf. It's is really strong stuff. Just wondered if anyone has had it and what you could use as a mixer with it?

Isn't having absinthe with a mixer rather defeating the object?

We have been drinking it on it's own but I could barely breathe after one sip. Something has got to go in it otherwise it's going to last us 20 years!

ha ha Snafu! I once drank a glass and was immediately so terrified I'd hallucinate that I drank about a litre of water as a chaser to try to dilute it. Err, pointless!

I thought that the stuff they make now doesn't have the wormwood in it,which is the hallucinogenic ingredient? I've got a lovely antique absinthe glass and a special silver spoon with holes in it to burn the sugar on. Very pretty.
