Hi there. First time to Mumsnet so a big hello. I just wanted to ask, we enrolled with a model agency called Babyshak based in Bexley Heath and I just wanted to see if anyone has used them before as they are asking for a "joining" fee of £80 per child and I want to make sure it is not a sham
Many many thanks

Hi Lesser - if you look on a website called Alba model info Alba it tells you about any scams they know of, and has lots of useful info (Babyshack are listed on there as OK)

There is a general child modelling thread on MN so you might want to have a nose on there and join us MN thread - it's not as active as it used to be, but still a lot of useful chit chat - we're a friendly bunch!

Thank you so much Housemum. I really appreciate your advice. I'm on it! I was a bit surprised they accepted my two as really I only gave it a go to see whether they are as cute as I thought or whether I was being biased. Thank you again and have a wonderful weekend.

my child has also been accepted by babyshak, although it is a £90 fee they are seeking.

Do any agencies at all NOT CHARGE until after the first job??

thanks!

Not all agencies have up front fee's, but with all agencies you do have pay for your own photos to go in the model book or website, and most agencies charge a web fee, so there will be a small charge upfront but it is worth it if your child does well, see the current modelling thread.
