My 7 yr old wants a pen pal - eek!

My 7yr old daughter really wants a pen pal and I'm not sure where to start. Have searched web and haven't found any sites that inspire much confidence. Does anyone know of a good (safe) website or organisation?She's keen on snail mail. Huge thanks for any suggestions

Do you have any friends / relatives with children her age who live somewhere she'd like to write to / receive letters from? (When DD was about that age she wrote to my dad's friend's granddaughter in America for a while.)
