Is a rabbit suitable for 1 year old?

It's DD's birthday in July and we are trying to put our thinking caps on with regard to her present.

We want it to be soemthing special as it is her first birthday and equally don't want to buy her toys as she will get tons, we've just kitted out her summer wardrobe and needs nothing doing to her nursery etc.

Rabbit is the only thing we can agree on but wondering if you think it is unsuitable for a 1 year old?
Plus, i've wanted a rabbit for ages but DP wouldn't let me

if you want a pet, try a goldfish - if they die you can endlessly replace fred the fish without them knowing anything about it! Don't smell either.

lol... my dds wouldnt eat it if i cooked it they would absoluty go mad! but im from the eastend and we ate some real weird things!! winkles[shell fish] black pudding[pigsblood] jellied eels etc etc

pinto baby rocking horse is what we gave DS when he was one. Loved it. He also had the baby walker truck with bricks, and the ride-on trike at soome stage when he was one.

My advice would be get a rabbit for yourself, but don't expect it to be a good present for your DD unless they have very compatible personalities!

i've had winkles, black pudding. i saw some celebrity chef dude on telly the other day eating jellied eels and covering them with loads of vinegar and they looked really nice. i'm off to norfolk next week. hopefully i'll find them there and really gross out my dw.

Tricycle with handle as recommended on the Mnet site! DS loved it from 1 year old and you could see how liberated he felt being wheeled along...they have a strap so you can secure them in and their feet just hang until big enough to pedal. It's the best gift we've bought and he pushes it around the house as well!

If you handled a rabbit everyday he'd be really tame and wouldn't bite.
Mine used to sleep in my bed and had a cat tray to do his business in!! But he died
Get a rabbit. Ahhhhh she wants one!!!!

Springchicken · 16/05/2005 16:12

Where's the tricycle robin?

Sorry...was away yesterday.

We got the Baby Driver 3 £49 from John Lewis and has a carrier at the back for balls/buckets etc and a pouch on the handle for cups/waterproofs/purse/keys etc.
