hi. I'm wondering if anyone has heard of a brand of watch called 'kabana'. It isn't an expensive brand. i bought my husband a funky watch about a year ago and yesterday I dropped it on the hard floor and it broke . He lovvvvved that watch and I can't find anything like it anywhere - no luck on the net either. The shop I bought it from closed ages ago. It also has a strange mechanism - it has a kind of wheel thing displaying the time rather than the coventional watch face - kind of like one of those date charts they use to date your prgnancy. (I know it sounds weird )
Please help me........

is it really bad??why don`t you try a jewellers they might be able to put a new glass and repair it,does it say wich country it came from???

SamboM · 06/05/2003 12:27

my Dad is a horologist, I will ask him if he has heard of it and whether he can get parts.

The glass is smashed and I went to replace it at a jewellers but can't because the glass is painted and makes up a lot of the use of the watch IYKWIM. So it would be properly readable with clear glass. Doesn't say where its made either. arrrggggghhh. (the new glass was going to cost as much as the whole watch cost me! still....would've paid it... )

Can you tell me where you bought it and when?

cathncait · 06/05/2003 12:37

Um...could be a problem SamboM. It was in Australia...at a dinky little shop that cuts keys and the like (no longer there). someone else I know bought something similar at some street markets on the other side of the country. I bough this one about 1 1/2 years ago ..but I think it had been in his shop for ages. I was hoping that it might be more available in the UK cos we're sometimes limited in what brands we get down here.

Don't think he'll be able to help you then sorry

I looked on Ebay australia but they don't have it there, might be worth keeping an eye out on it www.ebay.com.au

cathncait · 06/05/2003 12:44

thanks anyway SambM. I appreciate your posts. It was worth a try I guess - I'm getting a bit desperate. I'll keep looking.
