Aaah, of course (duh!!!)
Isn't there that one called somethin g like 'Change the world for £5'? Sorry, sound thick, but I know it's been a roaring success and £5 appears somewhere.....

(I like reading my father's scary collection of self sufficiency and knife sharpening books circa 1965! That makes him sound like a nutter-he's not, honest?)

If I may be nosey, have you put certain things into practice already?

Good for you! How about a Lakeland ecoball? I've got into bicarbonate of soda, vinegar and lemon in the house. Try not to use plastic bags at the supermarket (actually try to avoid supermarket.)Also use these as bin liners.
How about a solar panel to heat your water?
I also give the toys and clothes that the children get (in excess of their needs) to the local Surestart project ,before they get their hands on then.
Ethical ISP? We use www.surefish.co.uk (Christian Aid)

Dh recommends Earthscan publications.

Have you read 'The Little Food Book'?
(Craig Sams Pub. Alistair Sawday)
A mine of useful information.

I really want to get into composting, but am not sure I'm home often enough as we are back and forth every six weeks....

There is a specialist waste disposal component on dh's project to deal with grossly inadequate facilities for human and household waste here in Van. You wouldn't believe the litter in some places.
Dh and I feel very bad about throwing out our glass here, after years of recycling.
