yes, I've seen it 3 times, he is oriental with glasses, short, bit on the chubby side, wearing a football top I also saw him with a tall elderly white man he looked decrepit visiting the pets corner....again with no children I know the park is for everyone...but just to say...keep a close eye....

If you are so concerned you are posting about it I suggest you report him to the police.

What are you actually trying to achieve here? Surely if you had real reason to be concerned, posting a dubious message here might come second to say, calling the police?

Just to be clear, I wasn't actually suggesting the OP call the police, and don't think hf was either. The issue is, why would you post on here, if you were really concerned with actual reason to be? As opposed to the stirring, slightly offensive nonsense the post seems to be...

If you really think he's suspicious, you need to phone the police and let them deal with it.

Why not speak to him? I was at a park once and a guy was hanging round outside the gate, but taking photos of the playpark (and presumably children) and some parents were uncomfortable, a few people discussed it with each other.

I went over and spoke to him and it turned out he was a grandparent with his grandson. So I just explained to him how it appeared and he came into the park, and engaged more closely with his grandson. We were both rather embarassed.

However, in the meantime it transpired that someone else had phoned the police, who turned up. Everyone was embarassed and mortified. Poor guy will probably never take his grandchildren out again.

so what exactly are people supposed to do differently at this particular park. Do you mean that at all other parks, where they haven't been warned on mumsnet, parents should broadly ignore their children?

Just laughing a bit if I reported every bloke on his own in our local park, I'd be at it full time 24/7. Retired men tend to meet up there, sit and watch the kiddies play, (and that is what they are doing, they're not messing about down their trousers while they do it) chew the fat for a bit.....It makes me feel safe if I'm in there with dd and there's a load of teen hoodies around for example...I always say to dp, well, I know it's OK because of all the old blokes in there who will come to my rescue.
Maybe I need to read more redtops.

Well, I question the wisdom of posting this thread, but if I'd noticed a man alone staring at children in the children's section of the park (which is what I presume you must mean?) several times, I'd ring the police. I would feel silly doing it, but there you go, I would do it. I wouldn't tell anybody I'd done it though, because I'd be afraid to be accused of being a dm reader or an alarmist.

Lockets kinda made my point for me. But I am a man and I walk every day for exercise. If I spot you phatbooty I'll be sure to report a stalker and solve the problem by having your kind kept out of our public parks

Maybe he's a danger. Maybe he likes to get out for a walk. maybe - horror of horrors - he likes watching kids play (I do, I think they're sweet and it's nice and relaxing to watch them play and laugh..but I don't have a penis, so I suppose that's ok.)

If you are concerned about his behaviour, (something real, not Man Walks In Park) call the non-emergency number for your local police station. If not, then I think you need to take a deep breath and get a grip.
