if things are desperate tomorrow, get a lift/walk into town and ask for a crisis loan.

oh giraffski this is really rubbish i would ring again take the persons name who youare speaking to and ask fortheir complaints policy. it is clearly their mishandling of this situation that has caused this. there is no eason why you should have to fill out the form twice when those twotfeckers only have to walk accross the office photocopy the fecker and send it.

can i help in any way?

WTF - what a load of cobblers. Don't shoot me but I processed Income Support for many years and the way she dealt with you was appalling.

What office was it? I am a senior manager in jobcentreplus and if I found out my staff were dealing with customers like that then they would get the sharp end of my tongue.

Sorry but bad customer service riles me especially in an organisation that are meant to be there to help people.

I know it doesn't help but the best thing you can do is contact the line manager of that processor. each team has a line manager a grade above them. pending that each IS section has "HEO" you could complain to. the manager up frm them is the "SEO" and then it would be the District Manager.

There should also be a customer service manager.

What a nightmare Giraffski no wonder you cried.

They are heartless! You would think people working in that situation would be aware that when you are on benefits you do not exactly have money stashed away you can fall back on otherwise you wouldn;t be allowed the benefits in the first place.

Can you ring your bank & arrange an overdraft just temporarily. They usually don't want to see you get in a mess.

call your MP things get sorted out very quickly once an MP's office calls the B.A.

darlingbud · 12/05/2005 21:25

This doesn't help now but keep copies of all forms you fill out for them. I know from experience that there are black holes in many offices and oh no they never lose anything - it is always the customer who hasn't sent them in.

I would advise keeping a copy and getting proof of posting from post office so that any money not received in bank you can try to claim bank charges back from them when you prove it is their fault.

its worth a bloody try.

You will have signed the form and they should have stamped it in with a received date. if this shows that you sent the form in good time before your pay day then I would defo press them to do it.

giraffeski, do you want me to pop into the Macc office and call them all twotfeckers? 'Cos they are. Can't believe they treat people like that - appalling.

karenanne · 12/05/2005 21:39

hi giraffeski ...how terrible im also on is and its true they dont seem to realise how we depend on these payments...as if we have a choice????

i would ring again complain and ask for a crisis loan to tide you over.tell them you donot even have the money to get there surely with your bank details they can do it automatically.its not your fault they mucked up and they should do something about it.as for the food and nappies they dont know you have them and your already getting charged by your bank ..why should you pay for their mistakes.

im the sort (like you)who would get upset because i would have no money ,not to get any extra help but sadly the people who exploit the benefits system shout and yell and get what they want and sometimes even dont need.

hope you get some help

darlingbud · 12/05/2005 21:41

I wouldn't write a letter to them at the mo as it might "get lost"!!!

You could write a letter and copy the bank statement and ask to see someone about it. It is easier to argue the toss face to face otherwise if they don't agree to it you will just get a letter back saying no end of discussion.

I know is sh** waiting in a benefit office as it does have some lets say unsavoury characters in it but if you can speak to the receptionist or ring and ask to speak to the approprate person directly then you might have more chance than just posting a letter in.

Don't give up.
