I'm not having a great day.....

  1. It's my Birthday and DH has not bought me a present....or a card
2. Since 7.45 this am I have run from pillar to post doing things for other people 3. My MIL has bought me a size 20 nighty (she knows i've lost 54lbs and am in to a size 12) 4. My Dh and I still aren't talking about a major situation that needs sorting 5. I've taken on more work at school 6. I have accepted that I will never get my NVQ done 7. DD is being a pain in the a 8. I'm knackered

oh dear you are in a bad way. Mind you I would feel like that too if dh didn't even give me a card - can you make him feel really guilty?

Not sure what to say as the day is nearly over. Hope tomorrow is bit brighter for you.

Happy birthday! Can you open a nice bottle of wine for yourself, at least?

Maybe champagne, I think you've earnt it for losing the weight alone.

Grab your DH now & go shopping together online for a size 12 nightie, that can be your prezzie. ... After you get the nightie, Do a before & after picture with the size 20/12 nighties & blow up the photo so you can be proud of yourself for losing all that weight.

I would, ahem, mention this to my dh if he was so lax! But hey, don't worry about the silly size 20 nightie - just look at it and be extra happy and proud about all that weight you have lost. Fantastic! I am envious!
I think you definitely deserve that champagne.

2. Sounds normal to me - you're a Mum
3.Congratulations on the weight loss, that is a HUGE amount, now get out the chocolates and celebrate! Oh, and give MIL the nighty back for her Christmas present!

5. Learn to say no (I should practice what I preach)
6. Never say never, strange things can happen you know!
7. Get DD to bed if she's not there already.

  1. again If your DH is anything like mine you might not want a birthday pressie anyway - portable vacuume cleaner anyone? Flourescent blue bath salts? Spoon rest WTF? No takers? I thought not!!!

Ahhh,katiemac,sorry it's not been great but actually the nightie thing is quite cheering. Imagine if it had been too small and a size 20!!

It was my 38th birthday yesterday.Far from home and friends and family so quiet but dh and I had a party with the kids. Musical statues,hide and seek,cake and candles and balloons,the lot!!

Great laugh!

Thank you all for you kind thoughts and well wishes.......I didn't have a much better day today (I'll explain on another thread) but I feel much brighter and accept that days like this come & go - it wouldn't have been so bad if it hadn't been my birthday.

Thank you I've had a much better weekend - I've bought loads of new clothes, joined a sailing club and spent a fortune on books (that'll teach him )
