Keep getting spam with viruses emails and been told it could be outlook express?

So is there anyone out there who can advise me how to get rid of outlook express and still keep my email addy? I know I probably sound daft but I don't know how to do it?

I don't think it's Outlook Express's fault.

you can usually syphon off the spam with your email client
