How can I make a photoe DVD slide show?

Hi, I'd like to make a photo slide show of my daughter with music.
I've seen this done on utube and thought it would be lovely to do one for my daughter and send a coppy to my Mum.
Does anyone have a clue how to do this? Or even where I can go to have it done for me?

Whats that programme called that everyone on mnet used to make a montage? Can't remember, but it was easy, effective and free.....
