I know this is harder than purchasing a car, but this is our first baby and we have no idea where to start.

Some things to consider:

-We have no car and rely solely on public transport, but we don't really go into and out of Central London a lot.
-I walk A LOT! I love to spend time at the park with my dogs and presumably will love to take baby there.
-I jog along the Thames every other day. It would be wonderful to be able to bring baby along for my jogs.
-I am keen on a pushchair that allows the baby to face me.

We went to Mothercare today and tried a few of the pushchairs. The Bugaboo was really easy to push/maneuver, but it seems quite difficult to disassemble and fold up. I like that it allows baby to face me, though.

Thanks for any help you can provide. I truly appreciate your help.

I think you are already doing the right things:drawing up your own specs, chatting with mothercare type people.

Onlything we found tricky was baby facing us stuff. We comprimised with an FABULOUS buggy that we love but it cam with car seat that faced us for first 6 months or so. We bought a relatively cheap one called Atlan from mothercare as it seemed to fit what we wanted. We went in to a few shops and did research, tried them out etc and then gradually cam to decision.

What is your budget?

Is the jogging thing really massively important to you? If it is, then get a pushchair that's designed to cope with it better than most pushchairs, which won't be as stable if you run with them Most will actually state in the intructions that they are not suitable for jogging.

I would suggest you may need 2

One for jogging - they are a bit specialised so I can't recommend one

One for public transport - I suggest the Maclaren Techno or the Bugaboo Bee
