How do you put UPVC doors on 'latch'

DC are playing in front garden and keep banging on door to be let in preventing me from getting ANYTHING done, save for in 2 minute bursts!

I've never had UPVC doors before so not sure how they work

I know you can lock from inside by raising the handle upwards, and this was a revelation, but how does one put on latch iyswim?

I mean so they can get in and out but that the door stays closed.

Don't think you can. I always carry my keys with me in case i get locked out.
Don't think i'd want a door that did not lock automaticaly ANYONE could walk in.

You just shut them without locking, then they open when you pull the handle down.

The one i have doesn't do that. Can only open from the inside. No handle on the outside.

oh, can't be done then. I'd either leave a key in the lock on the outside for them, or open it, lock it and then it wouldn't completely close.
