What would be your perfect house?

just read another thread about perfect houses and wondered what yours would be?

Mine would not be huge. 3 bedrooms would be fine. An office for DH to work and chill out in. A big kitchen where we could eat. A playroom for the boys and a lounge where no kids are allowed. A fabulous bathroom with a huge bath and shower for 2. And a utility room

And a garden that looks after itself!

If I am on about a perfect house I may as well have some staff as well. I would like an au pair, a housekeeper and a cleaner who are all live out and dont charge much!

I would be able to lunch out and get my nails done and SLEEP!

I would like 3 decent sized bedrooms, a large kitchen (complete with a chef!), a large garden with lots of beautiful flowers in it.

I already have the nice size kitchen just need to find that chef, oh and a cleaner too please!

Don't get me started on houses. DH and I are starting to realise that the house we are in atm is getting far too small for us and we've only been in it since September last year.

Ideally I would like to have a detached house with 4 bedrooms, a big bathroom, a big kitchen, a dining room, a big garden and a garage.

I don't want much really

My perfect house would be this one but with the loft converted which would probably give us 2 extra bedrooms and another bathroom.

Then we'd have 6 bedrooms so there'd be one for me/dh, one for each of the kids, a guest room and an office (which I need because I work freelance so can't be doing with a 'corner' of a room). We already have a playroom, 'formal' lounge and huge kitchen with dining room 'attached'.

I suppose the only other thing I'd like is an indoor swimming pool but that wouldn't fit in this house!!!

I would like a bathroom with a huge shower though - ours is big but I'd like one of those super big ones you can get 2 people in.

Our garden is fine - big and fairly easy to maintain (well, for the gardeners to maintain ) and I wouldn't have any staff as I really don't like the idea of having other people in my house - couldn't be doing with a cleaner, au pair or anything like that.

I have thought about this a lot!

4 large bedrooms
kitchen with room for a dog basket, an armchair(leather), bookshelves, kitchen table and a range cooker
separate utility room
study with room for a BIG desk
library, with bookshelves up to the ceiling and one of those ladders on rails
2 bathrooms plus ensuite and downstairs loo

dining room

2 sets of stairs, one to the master bedroom, en suite bathroom and study, one to the other bedrooms and bathrooms

big garden with a giant playhouse/fort/treehouse, maybe a small boat on a fixed stand to play pirate ships in

Don't get a 2 person shower unless you want more kids.

A wide white modernist house on a bit of a hill, with plenty of garden and some trees. 4 beds plus study, (or 2 beds, 2 studies and a 1 bed studio-annexe-with shower and kitchenette for visiting mothers), lots of open plan space downstairs, huge huge windows which open out. Quite minimalist in style and decor. Vintage 60s furniture, parquet floors, lots of original artwork.

Small natural stream running through garden, big mature spreading trees.

i want the house off "the apprentice" i love it- overlooking the river with LOTS of rooms.

I quite like the look of this one, not big enough though!

no beansmum, where on earth would you be able to fit the pushchair??!!

I would like a 6 bedroom detached house (mine/dh, dd1, dd2, playroom, guestroom, office)
Master bedroom with ensuite shower & 2 person bath)
Guest bathroom & downstairs loo
Indoor Swimming pool & gym
Massive kitchen, with sink fixed into an island in the middle
Formal room (no children or cats)
Utility Room
Loft converted into a chill out room

All very neutral colours, very minimalist decor, no carpets. slate floor in kitchen and bathrooms, parquet elsewhere.

Massive garden with no borders, high fences and loads of outdoor toys for kids, wooden playhouse, climbing frames swings etc.

A gardener (the one in desperate housewives will do)

It would be detached! NO neighbour sharing a wall. Or all walls.

It would have a breakfasting kitchen that had enough room for two people to work in it comfortably.

A utility room with space for a separate dryer, chest freezer, and built in ironing board and drying rack.

A praved driveway and attached garage as well.

4 bedrooms.

A study and a conservatory.

I wouldn't care abuot having staff b/c I'd so grateful just to have our own space and not have to be in a pokey flat anymore with neighbours who play music we can hear all the time.

It would have:

6 bedrooms for me and my current and future family.

It would have a big lounge, a play room, a cosy tv room, two studies, a dining room a nice kitchen with a 4 oven Aga. A boot room, a utility room

It would have a granny annexe and guest rooms.

It would have a staff cottage for my gardener and housekeeper/mothers help (who would be a lovely cosy oldish couple).

It would have a medium sized garden - I don't want the world!!

Infact I've seen it in Country life and it is £4.2 m. any one wanna chip in. I've got about 2 and a half grand

Huge kitchen, with family room attached. Utility room and larder. Seperate dining room and adults only living room. Study, big enough for dh to work and me to practice from if I ever qualify as a homeopath. Huge, light hallway and landing. Downstairs loo. Big sash windows throughout. 5 bedrooms (main and guest en-suite) Big playroom/gym. Medium garden - big enough for playhouse, veg patch and lawn for football, but not too big for me to maintain. Extra loo in garage so I can clean the kids without going inside.

My goodness - taht sounds remarkably like the one we are moving into at eth end of June

I would love to have the house that Rick Stein used to have as a summer house when a child. Very deco and up on the cliff above Padstow. It would have to have one door that opened out into a city centre though to be perfect.

an old farm house with arga or range, open fires store cupboards, wooden floors room to grow my own veg and have a few chook, prefrable a well so i can collect some of my water needs,but i can cope with out. a generator for power and a high gate to shut the modern day world out!

this one but a smidge bigger and a bit more land

A huge bungalow with a courtyard in the middle complete with swimming pool that would have a sliding roof to cover it in the winter.
It would be envirmentally friendly, solar panels, recycled water, under floor heating.
On the roof I would grow vegtables.
I would have a veranda and loads of honesuckle growing.
Sunken bath in my ensuite with jacuzzi.
Mosaic floors of coloured patterns.
Soft, deep carpets in the bedrooms but solid oak floors everywhere else...sigh....maybe one day....

5 big bedrooms (one for each of us and a spare guest room)

3 ensuites - 1 in the master (big bath & big powerful shower). 1 for the guest room (big shower). 1 Jack & Jill for the DSs to share (shower)

Lovely big family bathroom

Lots of light and a bit of character.

Big kitchen, big enough for a nice table (seating 6 or 8) without swamping the room.

2 living rooms, one for the kids and one for us

A big dining room

A study

A downstairs loo

A double or triple garage

Medium garden, enough for the kids to play in but not too much to manage.

Sadly, that costs £850,000 - £1m in my area, so it'll be along time coming !!!

Oh, a play house in the garden for DD too.

and a tiny or non-existant mortgage would be great too !
