I too sometimes wonder if I'm in mumnset company - sometimes hoping I am, sometimes praying I'm not.

If I'm bored and part of a crowd of likely suspects, I have thought about simply saying in a loud voice 'any one here from mumsnet'. What harm can it do after all?

I think having a special mumsnet sticker is a great idea.

bells2 - were you in Gap on Sunday around 5pm? There was a very nice looking woman, slightly pregnant, 2 kids around the right age (I think) I really wanted to just say "bells" really loudly to see if she turned round, but dh said I would look wierd

bells2 · 29/04/2003 08:43

Ha ha Prufrock! No it wasn't me, although funnily enough I was there on Thursday. Would you fancy a CW mini meetup sometime? I am off on hols from Friday but back on the 13th.

kirby · 29/04/2003 09:37

whymummy · 29/04/2003 13:42

im thinking of putting a little mumsnet sign on my window but only and i mean ONLY knock on my door if youve contributed to the im a domestic slut thread i dont want anybody suffering from shock for weeks after

Meanmum · 29/04/2003 13:48

I feel I can comfortably cope with the state of your house and will be looking out for the sign. Will it be something like the Neighbourhood Watch signs.

Maybe that's what we need a mumsnetter watch sign where we all look out for each other.

whymummy · 29/04/2003 13:52

meanmum you`re more than welcome, the only downside is i now have to clean that corner of my window so that the glass is transparent again and you can see it

Daffy · 29/04/2003 14:55

Furball - LOL!!!!!!

SoupDragon · 29/04/2003 15:08

Just skimming this again. I'm thinking of printing a Mumsnet Tshirt with Whymummy's song suggestion on it "sometimes it's hard to be a woman"

I've just wandered round Croydon wondering if there were any Mumsnetters there...

whymummy · 29/04/2003 16:00

soupdragon ive sent a design to mumsnet that could be use for badges or t-shirts and im now working on other possible designs

whymummy · 30/04/2003 11:15

imaging if one day by chance we happen to find a few mumsnetters in the park and we start going
meanmum?? soupdragon? is it that you edgarcat?
chinchilla? mum2toby? isitjustme??slug?? i can just see everyone grabbing their kids and fleeing the park!!

mum2toby · 30/04/2003 11:23

Hey... I think my name is quite tame!

Just for that purpose I might change it to "CrazyLady".

tomps · 30/04/2003 21:22

Hughsie - know what you mean. My tip is to post under a different nickname if you're admitting to anything you really didn't oughta. There's actually only about 20 mumsnetters altogether, but all posting under multiple personalities according to the topic

tomps · 30/04/2003 21:23

And arguing with themselves over whether Gina Ford should run a private hospital or just carry on organising Teletubby land ...

codswallop · 10/09/2003 22:12

Not letting their chld eat grapes until they are paid for.

nitfreecod · 09/02/2006 21:03

thewomanwhothoughtshewasahat · 09/02/2006 21:19

thanks cod. whatever happened to edgar cat? I find this highly scarey - it's nearly three years ago but has "new-fangled" emoticons. that can't be right. They were only introduced last month.

motherfunkerhunkermunker · 09/02/2006 21:19

MN lapel badge...hmm...

Secret handshakes too?

motherfunkerhunkermunker · 09/02/2006 21:20

Cod, your typing's improved. And you went from cat to fish - isn't that backwards evolution? (devolution?!)

thewomanwhothoughtshewasahat · 09/02/2006 21:46

wavingordrowning · 09/02/2006 22:18

LadySherlockofLGJ · 09/02/2006 22:33

I had it confirmed today, that I spend a lot of time on MN, I kept pointing at MN offsprings at the Mars meetup and saying right, you are DD1 and you are DS1, but I do not know your real names.

Needless to say, the offspring all preschoolers just looked at me like I was mad and wandered off.
