Another classic Mumsnetter phrase - "I'm not judging anyone......but......"

Meanmum · 24/04/2003 16:10

We should declare a mumsnet day just like they do for everything else. In fact it should be Saint Mumsnet Day as I think we all are saints.

I'm very keen on the Amsterdam idea too but to make it easier for all those mums (and men) down under how about a sunny island somewhere halfway between. Obviously not someonewhere that is currently infected by the SARS virus or harbours terrorists but I'm sure we can find a beutiful island that would just squeeze us all on.

I too am yet to buy the cones but I will definitely be getting them this week. I'm trying everything in the hope of getting pregnant and maybe having better pelvic floor muscles will keep the little blighters in there long enough to get pregnant.

whymummy · 24/04/2003 16:16

why don`t we ask richard branson to lend us his island??get me his number quick!!

grommit · 24/04/2003 16:18

maybe a secret handshake...

Meanmum · 24/04/2003 16:18

Ooooh yeah. Can he come too?

Meanmum · 24/04/2003 16:19

Sorry for the pun I didn't mean that literally at the time I wrote it.

mum2toby · 24/04/2003 16:19

Meanmum.... another use for the cones - a conception aid!!!

A secret handshake sounds good, but it will be hard to decide one over cyber space.

Meanmum · 24/04/2003 16:33

We can devise the secret handshake when we're off on our island or in Amsterdam.

mum2toby · 24/04/2003 16:36

Good plan Meanmum!!! Like it!

breeze · 24/04/2003 16:44

Missed this one, this sounds good.

mum2toby · 24/04/2003 16:47

Welcome Breeze - you took yer time catchin' on to this one!!!

Meanmum · 24/04/2003 16:56

So, who makes the decision on where we go, when we go, how we get there, and how long we stay for.

From the mumsnetter meet ups it sounds like everyone has so much to talk about that lunch is never long enough. On a slightly more serious note anyone fancy meeting somewhere in the UK where we could stay overnight. I'm up for it if you are. I just fancy a nice hotel with a long lie in the next morning and no child or husband around.

whymummy · 24/04/2003 16:58

that sounds good too meanmum

Mum2Toby - when is your wedding? Can you afford a night away before it?

Edgarcat - I would love to meet you as I love your conversations on here.

Whymummy - are you in central England? How about we aim for the Yorkshire Dales, Lake District or even Northumbria. I love the North. Actually I'm not fussy as I love all of the UK.

Or....... we could all get a cheap flight to somewhere in France and stay on a vineyard for the night. That's obviously because we all need help in consuming alcohol!!!!!

Meanmum · 24/04/2003 17:07

Call to arms now ladies. Who wants to do this? I'm happy to organise things if we can reach a decision on location. I can either research flights or organise a coach of some description if that helps people.

MumtoToby, yeah don't know how I missed this one. I'd be happy do something, as long as its not the first few weeks in June.

whymummy · 24/04/2003 18:50

i might be able to design a badge for all mumsnetters

Meanmum · 24/04/2003 19:33

Fancy aiming it for after the school hols in summer. Maybe around September/October time. I know that sounds a long way off but it will get here before we know it and will give people time to save.

Definitely call it a conference. And obviously we have the right to call it a work conference as we all do work at being mums.
