What is this toy? Toy detectives, please help!

Ok, quite random.
A few years ago I played with a friend's toddler's toy and had a great time . Now I have a child of my own and want to get him the same toy, but what is it and where can I get one?

So, it was a small plastic ball, but with sort of knobs on it, and there was a switch, and when it was on it bounced around in a random and funny way.
To make matters even more intriguing, Chandler plays with the very same toy on an episode of Friends. God knows what that says about me!

my ds1 has one, it was called a Wobble-ball and unfortunately for you we got it in Woollies...

Think I know the thing you mean thry sold it about 14 years ago in mothercare, can't think what it is called, it just kind of jiggled abd made kids giggled, yes??

see! this is a version of it - ours is red with pointy spikes - but same idea

That's it - it was similar to those but not quite the same, had sort of solid knobs on. Yes, skramble, quite a simple toy, just jiggled and made kids laugh...for the simple minded, perhaps

My dd (14) had one when they first came out. They were indeed called bumble balls, and had batteries.

Go for lots on ebay.

When I worked in Mothercare I was often found cradling one and giggling behind the shelves .

Thanks for the reminder - I used to have one of these for my cat (MMJ is right, I bought it at a pound shop) but my toddler would love one.
