Weirdys. I like towels crispy.

Kelly1978 · 25/04/2005 14:14

crispy towels? why?

hunkermunker · 25/04/2005 14:45

Well, not crispy, just not soft and fluffy! I want to be dry when I've finished drying myself, I don't want the water to bead and bobble and stay on me like on a soft over-conditioned towel

Kelly1978 · 25/04/2005 14:51

lol, fair enuff! I want to know the secret to fluffy towels tho.

DaddyCool · 25/04/2005 14:58

soft towels suck. i like them all hard and starchy and rough.

lunavix · 25/04/2005 14:59

The secret to fluffy towels is sticking them in the dryer.

Vinegar helps a little too, but the dryer is the key.

Mine are tumbledrying right this minute. Should be lovely and fluffy

Kelly1978 · 25/04/2005 17:15

I don't have a tumble drier

sorrel · 25/04/2005 17:15

what do you do with the vinegar?

Dophus · 25/04/2005 17:17

Only recently discivered the joys of tumble-dried towels. DP always tells me off for wasting electricity. Muslins are much nicer too.

As only one of us is in charge of washing whilst on maternity leave he can go ...

Sorrel put the vinegar in the fabric conditioner compartment instead of the fabric conditioner....

sorrel · 25/04/2005 17:19

i like my towels crispy too.i hate faric conditioner and it has taken me 5 years to wash out all the Comfort from Dh's towel collection( wasn't allowed to bin them)

Gwenick · 25/04/2005 17:20

surely they then come out stinking of vinegar!!!

oh thanks fuzzy wuzzy. might be better than the awful excema- inducing fabric softener.Dh will be pleased as he says mine are like sandpaper.

sorrel · 25/04/2005 17:22

thanks cod -will experiment!

fuzzywuzzy · 25/04/2005 17:23

Gwenick they don't smell of vinegar at all, I use white vinegar to wash both nappies and towels (obviously not at the same time), no vinegary smell just nice soft(ish) towelling.....
