How long would you wait?

I did a favor for a friend of a friend and sent her some bits that she needed (and had asked for) in the post. The postage cost a little under a tenner so luckily not a lot. She promised me that I would be reimbursed the postage costs. It has been nearly 4 weeks since I sent her the bits, she has received them (next day delivery) but has not put the money in my bank account even though she asked for my bank details.

I only have the email for this lady so I have emailed her regularly not only to see if she received the bits but to ask her for payment and if she needed any more info from me.

I know it isn't a lot of money but that is not the point, the bits and bobs I sent her I gave her and asked for no payment for. She asked me for them as she was, to quote her 'desperate for them'.

How long should I wait, I feel I have been very patient and understanding so far but no TBH I am getting a little peeved.

Oh and I have name changed for this as I don't want my friend (who this lady is friends with) to know as she would be mortified and try to pay me herself on behalf of her friend.

Maybe the Easter break has delayed her? No excuse for this really though, is there!?? Some people!

Is she replying to the emails?

She has replied to one email, apologizing for the delay and that she would go to the bank that day, but that was over 2 weeks ago now.

I will wait until after the Easter break and then try emailing her again then. But it looks like I may have to just write it off though.

It'd made me a bit TBH as it makes me not want to do that for anyone again. I don't mind giving stuff away but I certainly wont post it before I have the money for it.

Definatly all the details were correct? Try again after the Easter weekend

Monitor · 12/04/2009 12:40

Yeah I checked and double checked all of the details and said to her to let me know if she needed any other info from me.

I will try one more time after the Easter holidays but then will probably write it off.

I know it isn't a lot of money, but the bit and bobs I gave her I could have sold and got some money from them that way. DH and I had been given some bits that we needed by a family member of mine so I was trying to pay it forward IYSWIM.
