Oh Bologna is beautiful. It has a big University, so lots of young people around and lots of lovely places where you can go and drink wine.
Best food in Bologna: tagliatelle al ragu'.

Hello: Buongiorno/ciao

Goodbye: Arrivederci

Latte: Latte macchiato etc etc.

I'm sure you'll have a great time

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 20/04/2009 21:58

Ciao Minty! sorry you did slip under the radar in my case but I'm a bit loopy atm.
don;t know much about bologna and that area but will find out.

now must really go. notte

SunflowerNeedsSunshine · 20/04/2009 21:58

just added a couple of pics for tonight only ...

hi minty

franca, I'll fill you in, blood still boiling so could go on and on and bore you, plus need to go, dd's crying again...

McCloudismynewnameforawhile · 20/04/2009 22:00

There is woman on the education thread telling london parents that we should move to Guildford and St Albans because of the bad school and the pollution of London. PMSL That's it, I am buggering off to bed.

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 20/04/2009 22:01

sunflower she is sooo gorgeous!!! But I we want a better picture of the footballer

francagoestohollywood · 20/04/2009 22:02

Oh che belli

McCloudismynewnameforawhile · 20/04/2009 22:02

in Bologna there is a museuem of the painter Morandi if you are into still lives of bottles...and i had a wonderful penne all'arrabbiata.

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 20/04/2009 22:02

yes I tried to answer in a mild manner. You just spoke my mind!

McC you are in a 'battagliero' mood tonight. dp must be careful when he gets home !!

McCloudismynewnameforawhile · 20/04/2009 22:03

oh, your dd is a beauty, like her footballer brother.

McCloudismynewnameforawhile · 20/04/2009 22:05

i am in a battagliero mood, i think, what the fuck, why is this woman with the dullest name ever assume that i want to leave london for st albans????? Guildford?///

McCloudismynewnameforawhile · 20/04/2009 22:09

i would probably just walk around bologna, look at the people, the streets, very very lovely town. and incredibly freindly people, i was only there for a day though.

francagoestohollywood · 20/04/2009 22:12

Tell her I loved growing up in a big city. Which isn't remotely as beautiful as london.

SunflowerNeedsSunshine · 20/04/2009 22:15

pippi, I've managged to add a better pic of DS for you , but for some reason I can't load any of the others ...

right, back to dd... night night

MintyyAeroEgg · 20/04/2009 22:18

Thank you very much all. I guess Bologna is where Bolognese comes from ? [quite possibly dimwit emoticon].

Btw McCloud: I have no intention of moving out of London to the suburbs for the sake of "better" secondary schools. Am hardcore scathing Londoner through and through. My neighbours are about to go to Tunbridge Wells because "there is nowhere for the dc to go to school". Their children are almost exact same ages as mine. Am going to look for a fight that thread now.

Brangelina · 20/04/2009 22:19

McC just read your post on that school thread, I agree entirely with what you say. Daft woman suggesting to move out of London to the country for the children - do that and they'll be on drugs by the time they're 14 from the boredom. give me a metropolis any day. I remember my adolescence in the country, the height of the social life was smoking in the bus shelter.

Brangelina · 20/04/2009 22:23

Sunflower your little one is gorgeous and so is your DS, he looks very cool.

Franca - OK for Weds I think, I'm not entirely sure yet. What time were you thinking of? Are you going for a manipolazione?

francagoestohollywood · 20/04/2009 22:25

I'm going for a massaggio at 9.30 nr centrale. I can be where ever at around 11.

Brangelina · 20/04/2009 22:36

OK, will look into it. I may have to be near Brera/Paolo Sarpi at 10 but don't have confirmation yet. You should go to my osteopata, she cracks all the joints in your back and it's a wonderful release, although I find it a bit scary and tense up at the wrong moment.

francagoestohollywood · 20/04/2009 22:40

fine with brera, I can take the linea verde

Brangelina · 20/04/2009 22:42

OK, will confirm where and when tomorrow. Notte!

gio71 · 21/04/2009 08:16

glad you're feeling more optimistic Pippi. I am back to doing what I do best-burying head in sand and thinking it'll all work out for the best . Drove myself mad over the weekend like you and wasnt achieving anything. Will just bombard the materna nearer the time and hope for the best. Every bloody private option near us seems to be nuns and no way! Would rather have him at home for another year!
Agree re countryside and for the kids bollocks. Went to visit friends in rural Scandinavia a while ago, live in idylic place in middle of nowhere and got a huge population of smackheads and people with guns - give me chaotic dirty Rome over that any day!
Minty-Bologna gorgeous-just go and eat!! Has great food there. Very doable to walk around and sit in cafes and people watch.

gio71 · 21/04/2009 08:17

anyone thinking about summer holidays yet? where are you going? Brange didnt you go to Toscana last year? Where did you go and would you recommend?

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 21/04/2009 09:45

brange exactly that! teenagers all over the country - italy or england - who live in a lovely idillic place do not give a flying f**k about such beauty but want easy access to their friends and things to do. take that away from that and you'll have bored drug teenagers who long to go to london to do all they didn't do there. No way for me either. If I'll move to the country - and it's a big maybe - I'll move when they left home.

the only time to live in the country is when they are small, then they can appreciate, not secondary school years for sure.

Re schools: I went to CofE across the road and dd is high on the list and they told me they always have a lot of movement once the offers come back. they were very positive. So it's my guess she must be high on the community one as well. Oh I feel so much better.
Gio I cannot wait for that drink.

re holidays: we are going to greece.

McCloudismynewnameforawhile · 21/04/2009 10:01

oh great damon! goodness i was in real battagliero mood (anyone remembers the song Battagliero?) last night, probably some buried anger, boh! lazy day with dd today.

do you think i should take her to the gp if she carries not not eating? seems allright in hersefl beside cold....

oh, how i envy brange and franca meeting in milan, probably having a bellini and then a spot of shopping, looking super sophisticated

www.youtube.com/watch?v=UeLetDzR5mE here the song for you who remember it...

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 21/04/2009 10:10

I didn't know she wasn't eating... since when? when we met?

I wouldn;t worry too much if it's only a few days. Maybe she's got a bit of a sore throat and eating it's painfull? does she have milk all right? dd2 didn't eat well those two days around the time we met... the next day she had a front tooth out and went back to eating like a pig as normal.

did you bash dp?
