Mum2Toby saying someone said she looked like Catherine Zeta-Jones on another thread has inspired me to start this thread. Has anyone ever told you you look like someone famous? If so, was it flattering or downright insulting?

I have been told I look like Cher, Anita Harris as that nurse in the Carry On film and even Julie Andrews........hmmmmmmmmm.

The funniest comparisons however, have come from the children in my family. My nephew once told me I looked like Mystic Meg (aaarrrgghhh) and my ds has compared me to Ann Widdecombe and Ronnie Corbett!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! All I can say is, he's lucky he's so cute!!

I have been told that I look like maria from corrie, dp looks like syd from emmerdale except with brown hair.

www I've been a debbie Harry lookalike in the past too, also joanna lumley. Now I look more like Wendy Craig.....

Sarah Jessica Parker - don't know if good or bad really. I think she looks quite old. Nutjob, you made me laugh as I have always thought my nan looks a bit like Ronnie Corbett. Can't work out in what way though!

A pupil once said to me (about 7 or 8 yrs ago) "Miss, you're like the lady from Brookside with the body under the patio". Beth(Anna Friel)? I wish - she meant her mum, Mandy Jordache!!! Have also been likened to Sigourney Weaver, Caroline Quentin and Judy Finnegan. Spot the odd one out (the one who doesn't resemble a tired looking frump - no offence, Mandy, Caz and Judy).
Dh has been likened to Alex Adams from Holby City and Hugo Spear!!! Yes please - yum yum. What on earth does he see in me?!!!!

I look like a fat Brian May from Queen. When I was slim people said Cher (during her frizzy phase)but that doesn't flatter me somehow.

I've been told I look like Robyn Givens and the girl on The Lottery. I can't see it myself.
DH is standing behind me and says he looks like Quasimodo / Shane McGowan (Pogues) and WLTM a Posh lookalike. He can shove it on both counts.

Okay, just today a co-worker told me I look like ginger spice - no idea what she looks like, but he said it was a compliment...I need to do a google search!

Just checked her out - way wrong, absolutely no resemblence whatsoever.

When I was in college, I was told I looked like Paulina Porizkova - oh so very long ago!

Did he mean Ginger Spice in her early days or the newly emerged Geri Haliwell? Quite a difference.

been on hols so havent posted for an age but love this one. People used to compare me to my aunt (who is hideous) so much so that I was convinced she had had me illegitemately and given me to her brother to raise. As I am a third child and my parents had given up taking baby pohotos by the time I arrived it just compounded my theory. Got myself in a real tizz about this aged about 8. When I finally told my Mum she laughed for days.
