It always makes me smile when you buy just one item in a shop and the shop keeper says "That's ££ all together please".
I'd expect them to say "all together" if I'd bought a few things.
So many people say it though, maybe it's habbit.

Hehe - IKWYM - also, when the bill is X£ and say 14p, when I say "would you like the 14p?" they respond - "If you have it", every time. FFS - would I offer the small change if I didn't actually have it?

Whenever anyone says "altogether" to me at the end of a sentence i go into Airplane mode and immediately expect everyone around me to say the chosen phrase at the same time as me.

This usually ends in my personal disappointment.

Oh yes, they always say "If you have it" too.
