What are your Easter traditions?

As children we used to wake up on Easter Sunday to find that the Easter Bunny had visited. He was a hoppity little fellow, and as he'd boinged all over the house, little chocolate eggs had fallen out of his basket. We'd have great fun finding them in funny places.

He also left a big chocolate egg or bunny on our bed.

What do you do with your children?

I'm wondering whether to start any Easter traditions for my dc this year, and if so, what?

We don't do anything, but we're usually away at Easter. I suppose we might do an EE hunt or something if we were here.

Bah humbug!

We do an Easter egg hunt with Sunday school in the little lanes and fields aronud the chapel.
This year I made Simnel cake with the children which went down very well.

I hard boil a load of eggs for the kids to paint on Easter morning, then we go and roll them down a big hill after lunch.

Traditional Christian here.

My children do not know the Easter bunny.

When I was growing up we would always have boiled eggs for breakfast, which we had previously decorated with permanent markers.

Then an Easter egg hunt in the garden, but without any hint of Easter bunny - we knew perfectly well it was dm hiding them and we had to be shut into the kitchen so that we didn't peek out the windows to see where she was hiding them!

When they were little we did the Easter bunny.

We go to church for the family service, and have a late lunch. We usually have a turkey....well we've not had it since Christmas!

Boys still like to do an egg hunt in the garden even at 15,13,&12.

DHs family kept chickens when he was small. In the week before Easter they put tin foil in the chicken hut. On Easter morning DC would run down and find chocolate eggs wrapped in foil amoungst the hens eggs.

when we were little one of my sisters had a rabbit.

you would be woken up on easter day with a rabbits arse in your face "happy easter" shouted in your ear and a creme egg left behind. plus rabbit dropings if you were really lucky.

one of my fondest memories from childhood actually!

no rabbits here sadly.

Wake up and dc find out easter bunny has visited and generally leaves on patio...We go to inlaws for family dinner, all take a decorated paste egg along for compo, after dinner kids do a easter egg hunt.
We do mention to kids what easter is about and not just about stuffing face with choc which is obv nice
