shelving question

Sad, I know for anytime but it does worry me. Do people secure their free standing bookshelves to the wall and if so how???

I'm terrified dd will try to climb up them and they will end up killing her but I have no idea how to attach them to a wall!!!

I find that if there are enough heavy books on the bottom shelf, they are really hard to tip...guess it depends on your bookshelf though. Why don't you get down to dd's level and try pulling? Don't do yourself an injury though!

If you are really worried, fit a big hook to back of shelf and eye to wall (homebase or B&Q sell them).

Ikea put attachments on all their shelves, its a bit of cord/ribbon/flat bit and a hook

But a small angle bracket at the top should help
