my bil is putting in a claim against his soon to be x-lndlord saying that he fell downstairs & hurt his hand.

LIE LIE LIE LIE LIE!!!

He hit someone last night!

Do I keep my mouth shut & let the poor bloke pay out? Or, do I tell someone? & if I tell someone, who?? Without having MIL have a go, pref anonymously.

is there a dispute between him and the xlandlord? am I being completely naive here, how can he sue the landlord for falling down the stairs unless there is a repair that hadn't been done?

lucysmam · 23/03/2009 21:15

they needed a repair at the top when they moved in, it was done about a week later (they pushed to get in the house without the work being finished)

They reckon it's not been done but it was me that let the bloke in to do it so I know it was done iyswim.

I just feel sorry for the landlord, they've made a mess of his house (blocked drains, the works) & now they just sound like they're trying to get money out of him for something that's not his fault.

am sorry I don't know what to advise really, he is committing fraud which is a crime

if it is for money then it is a criminal act and he can be reported to the police and could be charged

he's an idiot
